How to prep the veggies

When using a slow cooker, chopping your veggies into evenly sized pieces is best. I begin by peeling the carrots and then working my way to the celery and onions. Since this simmers for approximately 4 hours, creating 1/2 inch sized cubes is preferred. Anything smaller may turn too soft.

Warming and reheating

The great thing about thyme chicken soup is that it reheats so well. The flavors and textures taste exactly the same. Additionally, prepared soup can hold in the fridge for 3 days. When the kids come home from school, it’s super simple to reheat over the stove or in the microwave. Both methods yield great results.

Flavoring the stock

For this recipe, I’m using organic chicken stock. There are fewer additives as well as a more genuine chicken flavor. While cooking, the essence of both the herbs and the stock soak into the vegetables. It’s important to have the correct balance of flavors while preparing this savory dish.
