Allow me to explain… I like texture. Also, I like variety. So, when it comes to my family’s favorite recipe for a chicken salad sandwich, the bases are covered. Included are sweet grapes, crunchy celery, juicy shredded chicken, and even a few walnuts mixed in for flavor. This sandwich has it all. You can use regular bread; or if you’re feeling extra fancy, a deli loaf of Italian. Comparatively, per the hubby, the mix goes well with even crackers.

I love a chicken salad sandwich with lots of texture.

The depths of it’s textures are overwhelmingly visible. Whoo, I just get stirred up when it comes to good food. Going further than what meets the eye, let’s examine what meets the mouth. This chicken salad sandwich provides servings from the entire nutritional food plate.

As a matter of fact, it’s way too easy to fall in love. But, I guess I’ll stop gushing. There are benefits to this sandwich. I mean, did I mention, it’s also an excellent way to use up the leftover roasted chicken from last night’s dinner? Everything falls into place. I’m such a snob for not eating the same meal consecutively. Indeed, this chicken salad sandwich allows me things switch it up, easy breezy.

To summarize, my family’s recipe for a perfect chicken salad sandwich is a quick and easy way to make a filling lunch. We like to pair it with additional fruits; and, on occasion, chips. Because, a plain sandwich just doesn’t compare, this is the perfect chicken salad sandwich recipe.

Overview of the perfect chicken salad sandwich

The Perfect Chicken Salad Sandwich

Prep: 5 minutes, 20 if you count cutting/shredding everything

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 2 shredded, pre-roasted chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup of grapes (red, seedless; also, halved)
  • 1/4 cup raw walnuts
  • 2 stems of celery (chopped in fine pieces)
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Dash of salt and pepper

Steps:

  1. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except for bread.
  2. Next, place mixture onto of bread to create a sandwich.
  3. It couldn’t be any more simple 🙂

    This looks great! I LOVE red grapes in my chicken salad! And I’ve never tried mozzarella in mine either– will definitely give this a try!
